Prototype: Foundation Stage Profile

SDA/GIDE can build proof of concept prototype systems which can be developed into operational systems. This prototype 'Foundation Stage Profile' system is a full feature internet based proof of concept system.

Try out the prototype using a user of "user" and a password of "9999".

The screenshots below show one way that the SDA/GIDE CAWI/CATI system can accept a data file import. Here it shows import of a Comma Separated Values (CSV) file but a wide variety of formats can be imported including XML.

Clicking on 'view sample' displays a small pop-up window which shows the user the data file format that is expected.

Clicking on the 'browse' button will display a file open dialog box which allows the user to navigate directories and select a file. Clicking on 'Upload file' uploads the file and imports it into the forms system. In this case, accounts are created for each record in the data file.

Clicking on the link for 'EXLEY Annette' produces a form enabling information to be amended.

The import process can include data checking. For example, Unique Pupil Numbers (UPN) can be checked and only be added as new accounts if the UPNs are correct (certain length and match of characters/numbers).

An individual form is automatically produced for each pupil in the database and this can be accessed by selecting 'Form'.

There is also a corresponding PDF which shows the data input in the form but formatted in a different way.
